| Nobody writes operettas anymore, and the old ones, save for "Die Fledermaus" and "The Merry Widow," are rarely produced. The Theatre du Chatelet in Paris is trying to reverse that trend by opening the fall season with Francis Lopez's 1951 "Le Chanteur de Mexico" (The Singer From Mexico). |
